I had a conversation with the marketing director person at Copperfield’s Books recently about their Twitter account.
As we went through the conversation and as I considered the various aspects of what it was about I realized I had never seen a description like the following … nor could I find one when I googled the question “how my twitter account works.”
I got some other things, good things I’m sure, but not this “thing.”
The SoCooL thing is I get to print it here in the SoCooL VLOG BLOG … I’ll undoubtedly get some more input on if I’m correct in this description, if it has value, etc. … plus, plus, plus.
THREE PAGES
There are basically three pages associated with every Twitter account.
PAGE ONE
The page the public sees, whether logged in or not, when they click on your Twitter account.
What THEY see when THEY click on that page is Your Tweets
PAGE TWO
The page YOU see when you access YOUR TWITTER ACCOUNT. What you see when you access your own account page and you are logged in is the Tweets of those that account follows. This is NOT a PAGE that the public, your followers, those you follow see. This is the page only YOU sees. ( i think – yes?) IF, HOWEVER, there is a Tweet on this page that YOU WANT your “audience” to see you simply RE-TWEET that Tweet and it becomes YOUR RETWEET and is now seen on Page One AND on the Page Two page of those who follow you. PAGE THREE
The reply page. This is a page that is Tweets that contain @YOURACCOUNT in the tweet. These tweets show up as replies to YOU and can be seen by YOU and others by clicking on @THISTWITTERACCOUNT in the control panel on Page One or Page Two. It takes you directly to the reply page.
Interestingly enough, just adding #to the web address doesn’t seem to work manually or in a direct link like above. Mmmm …

SoCooLJon And Fiance Jewel have given
birth to a SoCooLBob grandson SoCooLJon Jr.
SoCooLJon and Jewel’s “landlord” began treating
them “less than well” in November while SoCooLJewel
was “giving birth” … hello?
Creating a “desire” to move that was a dream, a wish,
a prayer, that wasn’t supposed to happen for at least
another 8 months … glw … if, if,if, etc.
SoCooLJon, while helping a “client” got a face to face
meeting with one of the principles of a major software
company that has a need for skilled “in home/office”
support people. This principle was impressed with Jon’s
skills. Jon has met with the other two principles, been offered
and accepted a job with very reasonable pay and prospects
for the future.
Jon will get to exercise his many skills FROM HOME!
HOME can now be wherever he wants it to be within reason in
Northern California.
WE ALL NOW WANT IT TO BE in a very nice THREE BEDROOM
house on the golf course in Rohnert Park (similar to the house
I prayed for and lived in when Jon was an infant) … and …
GLW … we’ll seal the deal shortly and be moving in on the
day of my last scheduled infusion. Jan 15, 2010

Octomom. Balloon Boy. Tiger Woods. If there’s one thing for sure in this world, it’s that as long as people are acting reckless, insane and just plain stupid (i.e. like people), there will always be plenty of material available for JibJab’s annual “Year in Review” videos!
I wrote this letter today addressing some of the friends of Norton Buffalo and some
of the friends at the Sonoma-Marin Fair. As a regular participant in the creative process, I totally understand and believe that IT IS THE THOUGHT that counts. As we each individually act on these positive thoughts … we may actually come together and do some of the things that would be possible if we did …
Whatever we do … let’s continue to do the best we can at creating our spaces full of the kind of love and peace expressed by this man and so many of his friends.
I wanted to write just briefly today about another very positive
experience SoCooLBob has had with his camera and soon with
his “editing” machines.
I attended and video taped about three hours of the Norton Buffalo
Tribute held in Sonoma.
It was an extremely positive experience.
Among the many important things was the notion that a certain portion of the “Sonoma County” music “people” were present … celebrating the life of one of their Number One “icons” … and celebrating music.
There are many positive thoughts currently, about the notion of
continuing this event annually … The Buffalo Fest … etc.
I definitely support those thoughts.
In addition, I certainly became re-aware, that SoCooL has at least
an hour of previous footage of Norton Buffalo … including what I would call some very high quality video of Norton And The Knockouts appearance at the 2001 Sonoma-Marin Fair.
As you know, I had discussed briefly with Norton the notion of using video of one of his songs, “Buffalo Cajun Mambo” in this years YouTube video presentation on http://www.sonoma-marinfair.org … and also spoke to him briefly about what he called “my niche” … the creation and distribution of all kinds of video, especially including video presented by others.
There are all kinds of additional positive thoughts that come to mind … and … as you know … if these thoughts are not necessarily the kind that others might choose to act on … I’m OK.
However …
The thought is … the creation of a special DVD of those Sonoma-Marin Fair videos and/or others that might be sold through the auspices of SoCooLTV, Sonoma-Marin Fair and others … as a fund raiser for the Norton Buffalo Scholarship now being created to further support Sonoma County Music. “We” could, perhaps, even make it a fund raiser for “SoCooLTV.”
If it were possible to consider and act upon the notion of having
a Sonoma-Marin Fair Buffalo Fest, ( on the first day of the fair ) a gathering of Sonoma-Marin (North Bay) musicians, including some very special (and hi tech) presentations that would … of course … also end up on YouTube.
… I would definitely support that notion and give my best to help it be equally special.

The size and quality of the video, the amount of content available, the speed of the modern internet connection and other factors continue to expand what’s possible in communicating to and from the desktop.
SoCooL has just produced a video to, from, for and about it’s sponsors.
A really important concept in growing it’s notion of wanting to help produce
programming for a whole lot of websites.
Among other things, SoCooLBob is a cancer survivor. So far, the description of my disease includes recurrent, low grade, Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. While it is not curable, it is “manageable” and for the most part not life threatening. It does, however, when it recurs, require me to do additional rounds of chemotherapy , this time with a newly approved drug which specifically addresses the combination of symptoms and previous treatments that I’ve “got/had” and demonstrates the potential to work better/longer with little suggestion of worse side effects.This treatment regimen does not require the addiition of Prednisone, which could reduce those side effects, maybe even significantly.
I will begin this round of chemo on Thursday and Friday, September 3,4 … then again three weeks later, probably for 18 weeks.

It means I might be down a little for those days, but, in the past, it generally has been pretty manageable, ( I have worked for The Sonoma-Marin Fair while doing chemo) especially as it relates to doing the things I do from home/office/studio. Video editing, video programming, YouTubing, Tweeting, blogging, web design, etc. I am definitely still available to shoot video locally, and/or produce, edit, encode, broadcast, etc.
And, yes, I still have the warm and wonderful internet personality that has been interacting with folks worldwide since 1995 ô¿~
It also means that the extra income I earn is becoming even more important.
What I need is a few clients who can take advantage of my services for relatively
small fees.
Yes, it means I can work for less if it works for you.
What I do continues to improve and expand resulting in more
web traffic on SoCooL.Com, more traffic for my clients, more traffic from
my own MOOOTube.Com, more traffic and influence from being a columnist
and having a North Bay Video Player on Empire Report.Org … more traffic
from Tweets and Facebook and from constant communication with a lot of
different folks around the world and in the North Bay.
I would love to hear if you thought it appropriate for me to do some work for
you now. I can work for cheap and still get some very positive results.
Day Four … Very touch day. Pain in stomach. Actual vomitting. The first time I’ve really vomited in six rounds of chemotherapy. Day Five .. Same thing. You know
things are a bit uncomfortable when you do not have the ability to leave the bedroom
to go to the living room to play poker or Tweet ô¿~
Day 6 … Alive … No more vomiting. Still pain in the stomach. Extreme Fatigue. I am up and in the living room editing, Tweeting and playing poker.
While the Nation focuses on the pros and cons of legalization of marijuana, the plight of the children being raised in the Humboldt County environment, where marijuana is king, is notably under reported.
The purpose of this article is primarily to share with you a blog, currently being written and updated by my son Robert Jr., 41 years of age, now living in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It is he who is the expert. I only know of the details because of our relationship, because of many hours spent on the telephone, sharing his emotions, hearing of his research, following his many visits to court both by phone and personal treks to the North and wishing he could be, we could be, concentrating on more positive things.
Notions of unfair, not right, not good, not according to the law, have long been discarded by me as I’ve come to the conclusion that the people responsible for child welfare in Humboldt County are not organized to do what’s right or what’s legal. Rather, they seem to be systematically acting in a way that supports a culture and a society whose economics appears to be 50 percent dependent on a crop still considered “illegal” by most of our state and national world.
It is his report which will provide the personal experiences, the questions and answers he has had and some of the conclusions which include:
1) It would appear there is a significant financial benefit to institutions and individuals in Humboldt County, when the ordinary laws of child custody, child support and related family matters are ignored. The example cited by Robert, as a part of his research, include the notion that if an unmarried “Marijuana Mother” appears before social services for child support, the agencies responsible are awarded $3 for every $1 awarded to the mother. In other words, there is a cash flow benefit when those bodies rule in favor of the mother. It would appear, based on Robert’s experience with social services and courts in Humboldt County, that this end result skews the proceedings in favor of the mother, even though such a result may be a clear violation of California Law.
2) So what do you do? You work for a living in an environment where finding legitimate unionized work in the construction industry has been dramatically reduced. You attend various costly proceedings where each time, the decision, despite your research, is contrary to the law and more importantly contrary to what you as the father believe to be in the child’s best interest. You may commiserate, you may fret, you may spend too many hours doing more and more research, doing more and more things to attempt to find that one person or entity who can agree and help … and … you can be sure … one of the things you do is pay your bill. The State of California as it acts in Humboldt County, does appear to be very good at turning this case (any case?) into a bill to the out of state father, that must be paid, even though that same State of California doe not appear to be equally skilled at answering questions about child custody, visitation, the mother’s actual income, the mother’s compliance with other court orders, the child’s real welfare, which according to law are supposed to come first.
3) “… any solution which does not consider the children affected
by the marijuana industry will be distressingly inadequate.”
So, yes, my concern and my sons certainly begin with questions about his relationship and the welfare of his daughter. We do, however, understand, that anything that can be done once can probably be discovered to be being done over and over and over again. Is his personal experience and those of others he has discovered “the rule?”
Is this how child welfare in Humboldt County works?
How about in your town? Our town?
Does this add to the conversation about the consequences of continuing to treat marijuana different than say, wine? Consider this difference. You are a youngster being raised by a single mother who works at “You Name The Winery.” You are a youngster being raised by a single mother, employed but “unemployed” servicing the number one cash crop in your town. The “winery” in this case, is located “just up that hill.”
As my son writes,
“While you may be indifferent or undecided about the legalization of
marijuana, you would have to be as cold and unfeeling as the denizens
of the Emerald Triangle to support a mechanism which allows a child to
be stolen from it’s parents.”

So CooL remains an Incredibly popular combination of words … I oft comment on how often the most popular stories of the day get tagged by someone putting the words so cool in the first sentence … You can see an automated update, a widget of this phenomenon on http://www.socool.com/news, which is one page that has “revived” itself since the creation and discovery of YouTube. Looks like it might be revising itself again.
So CooL’s popularity has something to do with “key words” I suspect.
The words so cool are also very popular in Oriental (?) countries.
China’s Great Wall Auto Manufacturer manufacturers a truck named SoCooL.

made SoCooLBob a columnist and created this page … currently described as SoCooLBob’s Channel, should probably change some words to describe “The Channel”

I love the creative process.
I’m not sure what it means yet, but it’s part of a conversation about
trying to raise money for SoCooLBob “to do what he does.”
The Channel is currently populated with some of the latest and
greatest videos in the current news, with an emphasis on videos
uploaded to YouTube from Our North Bay. Unfortunately,
Robert Janover’s ( A Truly Awesome Professional Sonoma County Photographer}
New YouTube Video and Channel got crowded down by the passing
of Walter Kronkite and other New News … but his first uploaded video
is well worth the accolade … So CooL (Sonoma County Online) …
and well worth your repeated view.
I thank God for the desire and ability to share these things with you.
(let’s see .. how should North Bay News be defined? Sonoma County – certainly? Marin County? Amen … Napa County … I certainly think so?
Solono County? Fairfield? Vallejo? I reckon the conversation will continue …
